Evgenia Lapteva is a contemporary artist from Kaliningrad. She is a member of the art group “Tender Women,” one of the main themes of their performances and works is the study of female nature, corporeality, motherhood, as well as the comprehension of the historical past of the country. Zhenya raises her daughter Vera with developmental disabilities. During our “drifts” through Kaliningrad, Zhenya talked about her performances and reenacted some of them on the spot. Our time together became a performance in itself, during which we reflected on identity and ways of its representation. For Zhenya, in the process, the boundary between life and art is disappearing, appearing only in documentation.
